Here is a blues based video that I did in response to a couple of
questions and or comments. It is based on a song by Johnny A
and in order to avoid legal issues I did my own thing.

It also addresses the issue of combining lead and rhythm.

Pretty advanced stuff. Wish you’d “Tear It Down” so to speak. I’d like to learn that style in more detail ! Quite enjoyable, Bob. Thanks !

  • GTS says:

Bob, great playing of course but I also want to say that this is the first time I have ever seen you really get into your playing. I know other times you are trying to teach but this was flat out guitar face stuff!

    Jam on!

PS when will more rhythm course stuff be released for those of us who subscribed? -Thanks

  • Eric says:

Cool and groovy Bob. I liked those rakes and the finger picking at the end. Thanks so much!

I enjoyed that very much. Great picking. Clean sound

  • jc_bluz says:

Very Cool … sorta reminds me of some of Howard Roberts’ stuff; ICY, HOT & BLU! I’m pretty confident I can master the L hand work … but how the heck do you pull off the R hand magic of pick AND fingers?

  • Lead Guitar Tactics says:

As with most things the answer would be practice but I will be addressing a few techniques in future videos.

    Thanks,

    Bob

  • Jack says:

Beautifully played. Wonderful to hear. Pleasure to see. Keep grooving Bob.

  • James says:

Very well done Bob. I will be working on that one. Nice and Jazzy.

    Thanks James

  • Bob says:

Really enjoyed that. Makes me want to practice.

  • Dave says:

Bob, that was fun to watch, so full of techniques and a perfect balance of notes and chords to keep the rhythm and progression going. You could create a whole course around this one song. This is definitely one I’d like to learn, it would add a lot to my guitar vocabulary. Thanks for sharing this so far and I hope you can dive in deeper. Almost forgot, I like the song too! A lot!

  • Lead Guitar Tactics says:

    Hi Dave,

Thanks and funny you should mention it, but I have developed a whole course around this song. Should be ready in a few days.

    Best Wishes,

    Bob

  • Harley says:

Really liked it, great job Bob.

  • Brett says:

I have always wanted to tell you how impressed I am with your approach to teaching as well as the way you do business. The fact that you just release this stuff from time to time instills confidence and trust that you are the go-to guy for guitar instruction! Glad to be on board!

  • Bill says:

You make it look so effortless. Pretty cool vibe almost like call and responce between the lead and rhythm. Still waiting on a responce from my emails about not getting to download the remaining sections of the rhythm course I couldn’t get back up. ……Bill

  • Dave says:

WOW!! Even before I read comments, my feelings after I watched this video were in agreement with “GTS on April 28th, 2010″. You really got into that song. It flowed and was melodically pleasing. It’s great to see a good teacher who can REALLY play as well. (What they are attempting to teach).

Thanks and keep teaching and do more like that one with instruction. – Dave

  • Lead Guitar Tactics says:

    Hi Bill,

  • steve says:

    Thanks Bob.

  • Gordo says:

Wow! I watch a quite a few online guitar instructors but you are clearly riding the top of the wave. That was just nothing but pure delight to watch and hear. Guitar magic – gimme suma dat thing!

  • Glenn says:

I trust this comment will bring a grin to you. You were really cutting a rug on that fret board.
All kidding aside, I really enjoy the sounds of the chords you were using. A wonderful blend. I have to say, you did make it look too easy you know. If you don’t believe me just watch the video.

On the other hand a lot can be said for that as well. Because you did in fact make it look so easy this means it can be that easy. A little practice and learning each section one thing at a time and you too will be there.

There is a couple of other things I could say but maybe another time when my humor is better understood.

Play till your heart bleeds the Blues.

  • Tim Ewald says:

Really super job! Sweet. Lots of hybred picking!

  • Ray Matwick says:

Watching you play like that just gives me more incentive to get better.

Really cool. I like the progression and the solo licks. Are you going to show us how to play the cool chords? I hope.
Wish I could play that smooth.
